Gerald Garcia
Spring Snow

This is William Kanengiser's adaptation for solo guitar of a work written for the Los Angeles Quartet. The quartet, when on tour in China, encountered a street performance by musicians playing the pipa and erhu, and asked Mr. Garcia, who is from Hong Kong, to write a work inspired by what they heard. This video performance is followed by a brief description of the work by Mr. Kanengiser.

Byron Johanson
Magic Serenade

This is an excerpt from a work by Pacific Northwest-based composer Byron Johanson, who is also a favorite of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet. This video performance is followed by a brief description of the work by Mr. Kanengiser, which explains the inventive use of the capo in the piece.
