Dazzling, profound, and highly entertaining.

In Triplicate is a trio of internationally acclaimed musicians — Jasmine Lin, Clancy Newman, and Nate Farrington — who compose, arrange, and perform their own music. Known for their impeccable virtuosity, they have graduated from the world's top music schools, recorded on over a dozen record labels, and performed in over fifteen countries across five continents.

While the members of In Triplicate are classically trained, their insatiable desire for invention leads them far outside of the classical realm, with forays into jazz, bluegrass, funk, rock, paper, scissors, and Martian. Each member brings a different set of skills and interests to the table, and all three write their own music: Jasmine arranges irresistibles such as the Gipsy Kings, has composed ringtones for Acaia coffee, and pits midi whistles against human glissandos; Clancy composed his first opus at age 7, survived a mosh pit at age 17, and premiered his cello concerto at age 27; Nate sets his own poems to music, creates movie scores, and can play any instrument blindfolded, including medical instruments. Together these unique perspectives form a rich concert experience full of surprises, while always radiating accessibility and freshness.

In Triplicate's trio collaboration began during the pandemic when they worked together on an arrangement of “The Canyon Wren” by Emy Phelps, improvising with each other virtually and spending over 100 hours recording and compiling tracks. This led to a residency at San Diego State University, and since then they have been exploring new paths, often wild and untamed at first ... but logical and even inevitable in retrospect.

Jasmine Lin is a “magnificent player with superb tone and strong interpretive powers” and “a violinist of remarkable intensity,” maintain American Record Guide and Chicago Tribune. As a member of Formosa Quartet and In Triplicate, faculty member at Roosevelt University and Music Institute of Chicago, Curtis Institute of Music alumna, confidante to a Cremonese violin, arranger of Grappelli tunes, prizewinner in the Naumburg and Paganini competitions, Grammy nominee, and recording artist on Con Brio, EMI, and New World Records, Jasmine likes to solicit magnificence and intensity while leaving raindrops on her nose un-wiped-off. Her biography contains precisely one hundred words.

Cellist Clancy Newman has enjoyed an extraordinarily wide-ranging career, not only as a cellist, but also as a composer, producer, writer, and educator. First prize winner of the Naumburg International Competition and recipient of an Avery Fisher Career Grant, he has performed as soloist throughout the United States, as well as in Europe, Asia, Canada, and Australia. As a composer, he has been featured on series by the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and the Chicago Chamber Musicians, and his "Pop-Unpopped" project has expanded cello technique in ways heretofore unimagined. In 2021 he was commissioned by the Kingston Chamber Music Festival to produce four educational videos to assist school teachers as they navigate the Covid-19 pandemic. Currently on the faculty of Princeton University, Mr. Newman is a graduate of the five-year exchange program between Columbia University and The Juilliard School.

Nathan Farrington is a bassist, singer, and composer living in Los  Angeles. He regularly appears in the bass sections of many of America's top orchestras including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony, the New York Philharmonic, the Cleveland Orchestra, the East Coast Chamber Orchestra, and the Seattle Symphony. Nathan was recently named the Principal Bass of the Los  Angeles Opera Orchestra under James Conlon and Placido Domingo, and pursues chamber music and solo opportunities avidly. Nathan has appeared at the Marlboro Music Festival, the Aspen Music Festival, the Olympic Music Festival, ChamberFest Cleveland, and at the Da Camera Society. Wherever he is performing, Nathan makes sure to take along his trusty guitar and pairs singing and playing operatic arias and folk songs alongside his bass playing. In addition to his performance interests, Nathan is deeply interested in Cinema. His LA based audio company, Hazard Audio, connects top classical minds, with the artistic minds in movie and TV production. Recent projects include having co-written a score for a Martin Scorsese produced documentary called Building a Bridgeco-arranging a new score that is performed by orchestras live to picture for Eisenstein’s Battleship Potemkin, and project managing a fantastic commission written by Dafnis Prieto for soloists People of Earth and orchestra. Each week in Nate's World is new and dynamic. ... Who knows where he’ll end up next?!
